Stock Market News Today: Stocks Move Higher, Rise Ahead of Fresh Inflation Data

Stocks are holding on to gains going into the close. All three benchmark indexes are in the green, building on last week's performance when they were ahead substantially more than 2%.


Crude oil prices are also higher Monday, having fallen mid-last week to their lowest levels since before the invasion of Ukraine. Carvana's shares were jumping after an analyst upgrade, while bitcoin was climbing.


Looking back, it's been a bad year for dip buyers so far. But investors are largely looking forward: to Tuesday, and the release of CPI data expected to help gauge the path ahead for interest rates before the next Fed meeting.
